Great River Riders Chapter of the Brothers of the Third Wheel

The Great River Riders (GRR) is a chapter of the Brothers of the Third Wheel (BTW), the world’s largest triking organization. The BTW was founded in Coal Valley, Illinois in 1983 by Jim Sickler. Its purpose is to unite trikers from around the world and help provide them with the information they need concerning trikes and triking.  BTW headquarters is now located in Ava, MO the BTW has over 6,000 members worldwide.

The GRR is a chapter of the Brothers of the Third Wheel located in Southeast Iowa along the Mississippi River, also known as the Great River Road.  The GRR chapter was formed to bring together those who enjoy riding/building trikes.  Ownership of a trike or bike is not required to become a member of the GRR.  Those interested in becoming  GRR members must be members of the BTW, however, non-members are welcome to attend GRR events.  The GRR events are normally one, two day rides and non-scheduled rides throughout the riding season. We also attend events sponsored by other BTW chapters such as Trike-Ins, Trike/Bike/Car Shows and, of course, the BTW Annual Trike-Week held at Branson, MO in early June.

Currently the GRR chapter dues are $10.00, single or couple and communication is by e-mail (arbarff_greatriverriders@yahoo.com) or call 319-750-9900.   There will be a minimum of two official meetings per annum, normally the first Sunday in April and the last Sunday in October.  During the riding season, informal meetings will be held as needed during events/rides.

($37.00/night) Mary Ann and I have stayed here and it’s better than the motel we stayed at in Branson for Trike Week last year.

There are other motels close such as the Hotel Clements

401 North 3rd St.  ($80.00/night)

(These two motels are located at the edge of the historic downtown area, )

Weather Note.  Since it's too far in advance of the run to get an accurate weather forecast, I believe that we should plan on good weather and only cancel on the day of the run if the weather is bad.  I'm not fond of riding in the rain and I'm sure others aren't either.

Events are coordinated with the Freedom Triker chapter when possible.
